No Child Refuse Policy
What is the No Child Refused Program?
The Abony Family Tennis Centre (AFTC) is proud of our No Child Refused (NCR) commitment that ensures AFTC recreational youth programs are accessible to every child in our community. It is intended to provide flexibility to individuals with special circumstances interested in joining one of our recreational youth programs. Special circumstances include families who do not have the financial means to enroll a child in our programs, but may also include, for example, families on a reduced income due to loss of employment or due to their caring for a loved one.
Want to apply?
If you are a parent or guardian, you can apply for funding on behalf of your child/children. All information will be kept confidential. We ask the same of you.
Before you start, we ask that you first be able to answer “yes” to both of these questions:
Is the child/children on whose behalf you are applying between the ages of 4-18? (max. Grade 12)
Is your family in a demographic which would be considered in financial need, as defined by Government (Revenue Canada) guidelines?
How do I apply?
If you have answered “yes” to the above questions, contact the center to arrange a meeting with the AFTC Tennis Director, Rufus Nel, to review your situation and options.
Determine the youth tennis program option best suited for your child. The cost of any core programming is determined by your ability to pay.
Complete the application form and drop it off at the center’s front desk addressed to Rufus Nel.
Can I apply for the No Child Refused program more than once?
Your need for the program is assessed before registration for each recreational youth tennis program session. Any NCR funding accessed previously during the same calendar year will be taken into consideration.
What is expected of me?
We ask that you make your best effort to attend with your child registered in the recreational tennis program and to pay the amount, if any, agreed upon for the programming.
