Spring 2019 Junior Programs

About our Programs

Whether you have never played tennis before or are aspiring to be a competitive player, we designed a pathway for players to achieve their personal goals. Using a game based approach to coaching, players learn technique and fundamental skills while playing games. We continuously monitor all students progress to ensure they have a positive experience.

Our junior programs are aligned to meet the physical, tactical, technical and psychological guidelines of Tennis Canada's Long Term Athlete Development model.

We believe the success of any junior is having a strong relationship between coach, player, and parent.

FUNdamental Programs

The AFTC FUNdamentals programs are designed for juniors ages 4-16. It is the perfect program for players to learn the basics of tennis - serve, rally and score to be able to play a sport for life. As a player progresses from one stage to another, more advanced techniques and ball control skills are introduced.

Competitive Academy

The AFTC academy programs are designed to give players who have made the commitment and met the required competencies, an opportunity to train to develop the skills necessary to compete at a regional, provincial and national level. Players can access the academy programs by invitation, try out days, or by applying to be assessed by the coaching staff. Contact Rufus Nel for further information about the program.
