To promote community-based healthy living through the sport of tennis played year round by people of all ages and abilities in the Capital Region of New Brunswick and beyond.
To provide an inclusive and accessible indoor tennis facility with programs and instructional expertise that encourages tennis to become the leading sport and recreational activity of choice for everyone in New Brunswick and beyond.
The CRCTC is a non-profit organization with a mandate that includes partnering with Tennis Canada, Tennis New Brunswick, the University of New Brunswick (UNB), the school districts in the Capital Region and all levels of government to promote active living for citizens of all ages through tennis.
Tennis enthusiasts and parents of tennis enthusiasts created the predecessor to the CRCTC in 2006 as a voice for the tennis community in the Capital Region and to promote tennis as part of the active living/wellness agenda in the Province.
The CRCTC is a non-profit association with the following mandate:
Promote tennis as a sport and recreational activity for life;
Increase the number of people engaging in active living through tennis with a focus on children and families;
Provide programming to under-represented groups in their communities and at the Abony Family Tennis Center;
Partner with local school districts to develop programming in the schools with an initial focus on elementary and middle schools;
Partner with Tennis Canada to grow tennis throughout the Atlantic Region;
Partner with Tennis New Brunswick to grow tennis throughout New Brunswick;
Partner with the University of New Brunswick on multiple levels, including the Faculty of Kinesiology, Faculty of Business Administration (Sport MBA), High Performance Lab and College of Extended Learning.
